Queen's plans for an indoor football centre will put them ahead of almost every club in the country.... reports the Dumfries and Galloway Standard

The report continues that the club have submitted their appilication for the £600,000 old Tesco building conversion which will see the creation of two indoor seven-a-side football pitches.

Manager Jim NcIntyre beleives the amenity will take Queens' facilities way beyond their Championship rivals.

Proposals for the former supermarket building conversion next to Palmerston were formally validated by the council's planning department this week and permission could be granted before Christmas.

Queens hope the structure will include two five-a-side pitches, five changing rooms  and toilets. Also in the plans there will be space for a kitchen, cafe and a public gallery.

The report also adds that the synthetic surface will be similar to the one presently laid inside Palmerston Park.
