Queens didn't quite make it to third spot in the table on Saturday but still finished in a creditable fourth slot to ensure a place with the 'big guns' in the Scottish Cup draw next season. However, we did end up with a record 56 points--the most we've had since winning promotion in season 2001-02.

Said manager Kenny Brannigan, "I was really hoping for a win at Firhill and third place but our hopes were dashed by that injury time goal by Thistle. Alas it was the same old story! We had enough chances to win but didn't take them.

"With only three games to go we had played ourselves into a decent challenging spot for second place but we could only manage two points in those closing matches and had to settle for fourth place."
