branManager Kenny Brannigan is the latest casualty at Palmerston and has been informed that his contract will not be extended....Writes Bill Goldie on the Queen's Official Website.

"He joined Queens at the start of season 2007-08 to become assistant manager to Gordon Chisholm and tasted success on that great run to the Scottish Cup Final when we only lost out 3-2 to Rangers at Hampden.

That memorable adventure to Denmark for the UEFA Cup was another great occasion.

When 'Chis' left to join Dundee in March 2010 Kenny was asked to 'take over the reins' and was later appointed manager during the 'close season'.

However, last season proved a difficult one for all concerned, and he was informed yesterday that his contract wouldn't be extended."

Queens Mad thanks Mr Brannigan for his services to the club and wishes him well for the future.

Although working with a small squad Brannigan steered Queens to a 4th spot in the SFL1 and also an appearance in the Challenge Cup Final at Perth.

He however appeared to have an uneasy relationship with the Board of Directors and confessed he didn't like the press which was reflected in some bizarre radio interviews and press articles.
