Celtic Look At Stephen Dobbie

CELTIC have been asked to be kept informed about the future of Swansea City striker Stephen Dobbie.

The former Rangers youngster is waiting to see what is going to happen to him after former boss, Brendan Rodgers, made his shock move from City to Liverpool.

Dobbie, rated at around £750,000, had looked to be on his way out at the Liberty Stadium after another loan spell at Blackpool and has a string of English clubs, including Blackburn, Bristol City, Birmingham and Blackpool, all interested in landing him in the forthcoming window.

Express Sport has been told that Celtic have spoken to the striker’s representative and have been asked to be kept updated with regards any possible moves for the 29-year-old.

Dobbie has also had spells with Hibs, St Johnstone and Queen of the South but he has really made his name down south.

Despite his outstanding form of late, Dobbie has been strangely ignored by Scotalnd manager Craigf Levein.

He helped Swansea win promotion to the English Premier League and in two loan spells helped Blackpool sparkle in the Championship play-offs.

Celtic boss Neil Lennon’s main target remains Huddersfield’s Scotland under-21 star Jordan Rhodes but he is also keeping his options and looking at alternative in case he has to look at alternatives, including West Bromwich Albion’s Simon Cox.

Club Brugges striker Joseph Akpala and French hitman Gaetan Charbonnier have also been linked, while Celtic have also dismissed reports in France that they have agreed to sign Ajaccio striker Quentin Boesso.
