When Queens were paired with Falkirk in the Quarter-Finals of the Scottish Cup on Monday many will cast their minds back to the balmy days of 2008 when we defeated Dundee at Palmy to progress on to Hampden and win a memorable semi-final victory aginst Aberdeen. We narrowly missed out on winning the cup against Rangers in the final but the team returned to Dumfries on the Sunday as heroes.

The memorable win at Palmy will be remembered by that wonderful long range missile from a certain McCann from the Terregles Street end of the East Stand right in front of the Dees supporters. This present team is quite capable of beating Falkirk and appear once again in the semi-final at Hampden and who knows they may even go all the way to final and well who knows lift the cup.

These are exciting times for Queens who have an ambitious young manager who has a team full of skill and great spirit. I hope the Dumfries public rises to the occassion and turns out to support them. Queens are scheduled to meet Falkirk on the 7th March at Palmerston.
