THOUSANDS OF QUEENS FANS FROM SAN FRANCISCO TO BANGKOK,ECCLEFECHAN TO SANQUAR AND PALNACKIE TO NEW GALLOWAY WILL CONVERGE ON HAMPDEN THIS SATURDAY TO WATCH THE DOONHAMERS TAKE ON THE MIGHTY ABERDEEN FOR A PLACE IN THE FINAL OF THE OLDEST CUP COMPETITION - THE SCOTTISH CUP. DUMFRIES WILL BE LIKE A GHOST TOWN AS ALMOST 10,000 QUEENS' FANS MAKE THEIR WAY TO THE NATIONAL WITH THOUSANDS MORE WATCHING THE MATCH VIA LIVE TELEVISION.

Gordon Chisolm
Not even the most fanatical Queens' supporter can under estimate the daunting task that lies ahead for Gordon Chisolm's men against Aberdeen who have just secured a top six place in the Premier League. You can however throw the form book out the window and Chisolm is determined to set his team out to give the Dons plenty to think about. He has the luxury of a full squad to pick from with only Sean O'Connor causing concern but the big man is expected to make it which is bad news for the Dons defence

Much will depend on what sort of Dons team turns up on the day and if they leave any chinks in their armoury Queens will take full advantage. Queens performance depends a lot on four key players in my opinion. We will be looking for big performances from Thomson,MacFarlane,Tosh and Dobbie. Thomson is the anchor at the back, MacFarlane along with Tosh are the inspiration in midfield with Dobbie the matchwinner up front. Chisolm also relies on teamwork with MacDonald,
McCann,Harris,Aitken,Burns and McQuilken expected to take the field.

Barry Nicholson
There is a great deal of interest amongst Queens' fans in the Dons' Barry Nicholson who of course was born in Dumfries. Barry is treated with great reverence in Dumfries and will get a warm reception from the Queens support in probably more ways than one. According to media reports his future at Pittodrie is uncertain much to the concern of Dons Boss Jimmy Calderwood.

The Dons over the past seasons have been a bit of an enigma but have blossomed this season with some great performances in Europe and of course gaining a sixth spot in the Premier League. Calderwood however will give Queens every respect and the Dons will be formidable oppostion with top scorer Lee Miller a big threat to Jim Thomson and his troops.

Jim Thomson
It should be a great occassion and with 10,000 noisy Queens' fans cheering on their favourites it should be a fascinating contest. The Dons are the clear favourites with their pace and Premier League experience the telling factor but the great team spirit of Gordon Chisolm's team could produce an upset.

Win or lose the Queens' fans are coming up to Hampden to enjoy themselves and let's cheer on the Doonhamers to a famous victory but at the same time show respect to the Dons and their supporters and uphold the good name of :

QUEEN OF THE SOUTH - THE ONLY TEAM IN THE BIBLE
