Euro 2012 Betting Odds

Euro 2012 BettingAfter looking at the odds of the tournament, Spain are the clear favorites’ which is no surprise to most of us as Spain has some of the worlds best players in their squad as well as being the current European and World champions.

Germany also have very good odds after the consistency in tournaments and a reputation to dominate the best of teams. Holland and England also have good odds both at 7/1 which from Holland you would expect nothing less after reaching the world cup finals in 2010, However England’s odds come as a bit of shock to most people but considering their form going into the Competition is proof enough specially after their victory over Spain in a friendly earlier in 2011.

Italy and Frances odd's aren’t quite as good as previous years, with both teams not playing nearly as well since they met in The 2006 World Cup Final. Italy’s Odds being 14/1 and France's being 12/1 showing how much their form has dropped in recent years as normally, both teams would be considered strong favorites’ for the title.

Portugal’s recent form shows with their 18/1 odds, they have not been playing any where near their full potential recently and the fact that they are in the 'group Of death' with Germany, Holland and Demark ( who are 100/1) aren't going to help their chances, it would be surprising to see them to get past the group stages. Were as Russia have quite surprising odds with 16/1, their form recently has improved greatly and has not gone un-recognized to bookies, and with Russia in Group A (Czech Republic, Poland and Greece) could have a potentially easy ride to the knock out stages with all three teams in their group not playing to their previous form leading up to the tournament.

But as we have seen before, any team can win the tournament. Greece won the euro 2004 tournament but in 2008 did not make it past the Group stages, with 40/1 odds, you can’t predict who will win.

Previous winners include Soviet Union, Czechoslovakia, Denmark, Germany, France, Spain, Italy and Holland. Hopefully we can see a new Team added to this list in the upcoming competition in Poland and Ukraine.
