GUS ASSEMBLES THE TROOPS AT GLASGOW GREEN

 

Pre-season training starts for Queens today at Glasgow Green and new boss Gus McPherson with his assistant Andy Millen. will hope  to have around 24 players on view. Gus hopes to assemble a competetive squad for the new campaign and has signed up Magic Johnston as player coach on a one year deal.

Already signed up for next season are Stephen Simmons,Stephen McKenna,Craig Reid and Daniel Cramichael.

Gus will also be talking to several players who were with Queens last season including Bob Harris,David Weatherston and Ryan McGuffie.

The under 19 players will be training at Sheep Mount,Carlisle under the watchful eye of Stuart Rome who also manages Gretna 2008.

Meanwhile former Queens players David Lilley and Rocco Quinn have been fixed up with Airdrie and Ross County respectively and we wish them all the luck in the future.

It has also been revealed that that Dumfries and Galloway Council have changed their minds about the location of the new 3G pitch in Dumfries having now decided on Dumfries High School in association with Greystone Rovers.
