All Queens fans will be aware our famous ‘Hole I’ The Wa’ clock’ advert has been taken down to make way for Oakbank Services who now sponsor the Portland Road terracing stand. The ‘Time to Visit….' sign was erected over 20 years ago with both Billy and Keith Houliston playing a key role in its erection. Here’s a little tribute ……….
…….To The Hole I’ The Wa’ Clock
So the whistle has been blown on the Hole I’ The Wa’ clock
The end of an era, full-time, that’s it
If ol’ Billy was here he’d probably say that’s s**t!
To keep it there we bravely fought
But money talks and it’s lost its spot
There’s times many a fan has wished it would stop
Or willed it forward to 5 o’ clock
So now when Queens are winning check the clock and sing
‘It’s time to visit Oakbank Recycling’ !!
The Hole I’ The Wa’ has supported Queens through the years
A loyalty to the Club, not just to sell beer
But The Wa’ sign has to move and will brighten up your nights
You’ll now find us on the Palmerston lights (and next to the pie shop!)
The sign may have moved, the spot has been bought
But to Doonhamers it’ll stay
