MANAGER APPLICATIONS ROLLING IN AT PALMY

Applications for the manager`s job at Palmerston have been rolling in and David Rae admits, "It`s by far the most since I became Chairman and it just goes to show what a popular club Queen of the South really are.

With around 30  applications in,Officials at Palmy are busy conducting interviews and hope to have someone in place by the middle of the month at the latest.

With pre-season training about to start on the 20th June Queens will hope to get the right man in place.

It has been reported that around 200 full-time players are looking for jobs in Scotland at present so Queens will be spoilt for choice provided the finance is available.

Meanwhile Scotland's only fan owned club Sirling Albion conducted trials yesterday which players were charged £200 for the privilege and around £5,000 was raised for the club.

Open trials have become popular in Scottish Football since cash strapped Clyde had to release virtually their whole squad in 2005.
