Mark Roberston

The Queens Official Website reports that  local businessman Mark Blount has been appointed Director of the club. Mark comes from a long line of Queens supporters and, of course, his father, Norman, was Chairman of the club from 1994 to 1999.

Mark was part of the Queen's youth team that made the 1986 BP Youth cup final in 1986 against Aberdeen having beaten Celtic on the way.  Director Mark Robertson will stand down, as planned, at the end of the current season.

Speaking on Queens Official Website,Chairman Billy Hewitson said of the appointment, "Mark Robertson always intended to be with us for two season. He joined us at a very difficult time for the club and his contributions, on many levels, have taken the club to a much more secure position, both financially and in operational terms.

I would like to express my thanks to him for all his efforts. With Mark going it was important that we strengthened the Board at this time. Mark Blount, and his family, have been great supporters of the club for many years and making the appointment at this stage will give Mark an opportunity to watch and learn as the season draws to a close. He will also hopefully have the chance to celebrate a league and cup double! I am delighted that he has come on board and I am sure he will bring some fresh ideas on how the club should operate.

Queens Mad welcomes Mark Blount and his keen business acumen will be an asset to the club. Meanwhile we wish Mark Roberston the best of luck in the  future and thank him for his valuable contribution to the club's recent success.
