Queen of the South will be without striker Michael Paton against Dumbarton tomorrow after the former Aberdeen man failed to recover from a hamstring injury picked up against Falkirk last weekend.

The Doonhamers had hoped Paton’s early substitution would have prevented him missing any more games but he will not be fit to face the Sons.

Manager Jim McIntyre said: “Michael’s injury has eased up a bit but there is still some discomfort there so we cannot risk him against Dumbarton. Hopefully, he will be good to go against Hamilton next weekend.”

The Queen's boss however has plenty of options when picking his team with McKenna and Atkinson back from suspension as they face the league's surprise package Dumbarton who have found the net 45 times this season.

The Doonhamers appalling run of luck recently is bound to change and we expect them to grab three points and renew their challenge for a play-off place.
