Play for your Club 2010

Final preparations are being made for Friday nights' "Play for your Club" event. The match will take place at Palmerston, with a 7.00pm kick-off.

Both sets of managers are looking forward to taking part in the match. Last season's triumphant managers, Chopper Dickson and Iain McChesney are back to take charge of the Red Team again, and this season we have reunited two of our 2007/08 Cup Final squad to provide the challenge, as the centre-half pairing of Jim Thomson and Andy Aitken will be managing the Blue Team - Jim is bringing his boots, and may find the urge to bring himself on too great to refuse!!!!

Having carried out Assistant Refereeing duties at last season's match, Queens diehard Bob Park will take charge of this season's match as referee. His assistant's this season will be local officials' Derek Stocks and Tony Davis. We wish them all well in their duties, as well as in keeping the management teams' apart and keeping Chopper in check!!!!

As always we would encourage as many supporters as possible to come along and watch this season's match. Whether the players are family members or friends, work colleagues or team-mates, we hope that as many spectators as possible will come along to cheer on their fellow supporters. Admission to the match will be via the Main Stand only, and admission prices are set at £2 for adults, with children being admitted free of charge.

As with last season's match, a commemorative programme will be available at a cost of £1 - this will include photographs and profiles of all the players and officials taking part, as well as providing career stats on all this season's managers.

All attending the match are reminded that Palmerston is also the venue for the "drive-in movie" taking place on Friday night in the former Tesco car park as part of the Dumfries & Galloway Film Festival. To this end, a section of the car park shall be cordoned off for patrons attending that event. A section of the former Tesco car park shall remain available to those coming to the Play for your Club event, and parking in this area shall be free of charge.

So to all those taking part in the match, we hope that you shall enjoy the experience, and we hope as many Queens fans' can come along on the evening to support their fellow fans', and make their experience even more special.
