THE season could be a big one for football fans in the South West of Scotland with chances for the three SPFL teams in the region moving up a division. After saturday's games Queens of the South joined their counterparts from Annan Athletic to book their place in the end of season play-offs and a chance to go up to the SPL. They had a comfortable 3-0 win over over Livingston to make sure of the fourth place in Division One.

Annan Athletic, despite their surprise defeat at the hands of Montrose, are already through to the play-offs with a chance of promotion to Division One. Stranraer, despite a collapse in form in recent games and a 3-0 defeat by Rangers yesterday, are still favourites to book a play-off spot for a chance of progressing to the Scottish Championship next season.
