Queens Add Two New Keepers To The Squad

Queens today signed two goalkeepers for the forthcoming season

The experienced Roddy McKenzie (34) who was previously with Livingston and Hearts plus young local lad, Ross Hyslop join the squad. A Bellshill boy, Roddy has signed a one year contract after spending seven years at Almondvale.

With both Ludovic Roy and Scott Fox released, Kenny Brannigan is making sure he has of plenty cover 'between the sticks'.

Although only 18 Ross Hyslop is no stranger to Palmerston as he's a local lad and has been involved with the club since a 14-year-old. When just 15 he featured on the bench for a Dundee match but then moved to Scunthorpe United for a spell and last season was with Premier League Motherwell.

While at Fir Park he was sub goalie for his debut against none other than mighty Celtic at Parkhead but, alas, didn't make it onto the park.

Said Ross, "On leaving Motherwell at the end of last season I was asked by Jim Thomson to play a few games for the Under-19's but 'sod's law' I broke my leg in three places and finished up in hospital. It was a real sickener!

"However, I've now signed a one year contract with my home town team and I want to be right in there challenging David Hutton and new man Roddy McKenzie. I don't just want to be just a 'spectator'. He insisted".
