SCOTTISH PLAYERS HAVE A CHANCE DOWN UNDER ... reports the Scotish Football League website

Scottish football players that find themselves without a club at the end of this transfer window are being offered the chance to kick start their career Down Under. Shepparton South Soccer Club, who are based in the north east of Victoria some 112 miles north-east of Melbourne, are keen to build up their contingent of ex-pats Scots and are willing to meet the cost of return flights and accommodation to players who have played at a SPL or SFL standard.

Shepparton South Soccer ClubHead of Football at the club Frank Scarcella said, “We are an amateur side but we will help players find work in the area. We have had a great deal of success in recent years with the likes of Steven Weir, Dean Cowie and Gary McGowan coming here after playing in Scotland and we are keen for that to continue.”

“Our coach is also a Scot, Connor Campbell, and we would be pleased to hear from anyone, and in particular a goalkeeper, with the experience we are looking for that wants the chance to play in Australia.”
