The national coach is currently drawing up a blueprint which Brown believes can help breathe life into the ailing national game.

Scotland’s continued failure to qualify for a major finals since World Cup 1998 and the ongoing disappointments Scottish clubs in European competition has set the alarm bells ringing again.

Celtic and Scotland skipper Brown has worked under Strachan for both club and country and believes if he is given the full backing of the nation then he will turn our footballing fortunes around.

He said: “When he was at Celtic he had every team at every age group playing in the same way and he wants to do that with Scotland as well.

“He did that brilliantly at Celtic and everyone has faith in him to do it just as well with the national teams.
