Queen's manager James Fowler told a packed AGM meeting of  shareholders last night that this present Queens is capable of holding their own in the SPL.

Doonhamers chairman David Hewitson was also in a confident mood as he informed shareholders of a successful season for the club on and off the field. Narrowly missing out on the play-offs,the laying of the new surface and the renovation of the Queens arena were all milestones. Some hard work has also been done by Victoria Thomson on the commercial side and the appearance of Status Quo at Palmerston in the summer will earn extra revenue for the club.

Director Mr C. Paterson also informed shareholders of a profit of £55,000 for financial year ending 31st May 2014. Turnover was also up from £1,046,181 to £1,279,957 but admin expenses rose £264,381 due to the extra costs of running the successful Queens Arena.

Mr Craig Paterson was also re-appointed as Director.

Queen's Manager Mr Fowler faced questions from the floor and handled them in an impressive and confident way.

He was asked about the assistant manager siutation and he indicated although they were looking for an experienced coach they are  coping at the moment with Paul Burns helping out as Jim Thomson gets more involved in other activities. He also said he had tremendous support from club captain Chris Higgins and also Eddie Warwick on the youth side. Fowler also stated that Paul Burns is becoming more interested in the coaching side and intends to gain his badges in the future. Fowler is very happy with the squad and with several players back from injury including some youngsters breaking through ,things are looking good.He indicated that he was pleased with the home scottish cup-tie against Fakirk and has every confidence of progressing to the semi-final at Hampden.

Queen's management are also talking to various players on the signing of new contracts and so far only one approach has been made for any of our players and this was rejected. Fowler also said that they were loooking for a sriker but as long as Lyle,Reilly and Co keep banging them in there is no panic.
