Queens squandered a load of chances against bottom of the table Stirling Albion at Palmerston last night and paid the penalty when the visitors snatched a late equaliser against the run of play ...writes Bill Goldie on Queens Official Website..

Stirling took an early lead but as the match progressed Queens started to dominate and early in the second period Colin McMenamin levelled with a fine strike.

Queens were well on top by now and it was no big surprise when Ryan McGuffie lashed home another to make it 2-1.

By now Queens were in total command but chance after chance went a-begging.

And as so often happens Stirling grabbed an equaliser in the dying minutes and it was certainly a case two points dropped, not one gained.

Said a raging Kenny Brannigan afterwards, "That`s as angry as I`ve ever been since coming to Palmerston. To say I was disappointed is a massive understatement!

"I said my piece in the dressing room quickly and left. I just had to leave early before I said something I might have regreted.

"Colin McMenamin and Danny Carmichael both squandered good opportunities to tie it up and the chances we missed must have been in double figures. That match should have been all tied up by half-time. We should have won by a barrowload!

"Conditions were difficult at times but we should have had all three points--there`s no disputing that!".

Stirling boss Jocky Scott was much happier and admitted, "I was delighted for our boys and we did well to hang on and get a result. We didn`t win but it was still a good point away from home.

"Our equaliser came late but they all count! To get a result down here was most satisfying.

"Queens must regret all the chances they didn`t take but we did show a lot of character to hit back when all seemed lost.
