Chisolm Must Deliver

Gordon Chisolm
After several recent unconvincing performances, frustrated Queens fans are hoiping that manager Gordon Chisolm can deliver the first victory of the season for the Doonhamers. Chisolm has riled certain quarters of the Queens support by placing Andy Aitken on the transfer market but the defender is included in the pool for the match. Chisolm however has some injury problems with the news that Eric Paton is ruled out but the return of Jim Thomson should be a welcome bonus for the Queens.

I have my doubts about this one taking into account the reported dressing turmoil of the past week but I will be extremely disappointed if we don't record our first home victory.

History of the Queen of the South v Livingston fixture

Queen o.t.S. prepare to entertain Livingston at Palmerston Park on Saturday afternoon, needing to improve on a poor record between the sides. The visitors have won 8 of the 21 previous games, with the The Doonhamers winning just 7.

The most recent encounter between these two sides at Palmerston Park was less than a year ago, in April 2007, where the two sides shared the spoils courtesy of a 1-1 final scoreline in a Scottish Division One match.

Recent respective form guides

Queen of the South may have lost only 1 of their last six home games, but the other 5 have resulted in drawn games. While The Doonhamers have scored 7, a worringly large 10 have been leaked at the other end.

Livingston's away form is none too clever either, seeing them win just 1 and draw 2 of the last six. Livi have conceded 9 goals in these games, and only hit 3 in reply.

Queen o.t.S. see themselves just below half way in the Irn Bru Scottish Division One, showing a record of 1 points from their 3 games played so far, Livingston are hovering perilously just above the relegation zone, with 1 points from 3 matches.

FootyMad's prediction ...

Its been a distinctly poor show from Queen o.t.S. at home in recent games, and, though I cannot see a run starting here, I do think the The Doonhamers will at least gain a draw. Score draw
