FATE LIES IN OUR OWN HANDS

Last updated : 07 April 2006 By Duke of GALLOWAY

Queens have an opportunity to further distance themselves from rivals Stranraer tomorrow as they visit Airdie United. Queens have a good record against the Lanarkshire club this season and aim to collect all three points. Rivals Stranraer have a tough fixture against Dundee at Strair Park and if they lose then Queens will be able to take full advantage. It will not be easy going at Airdrie and the home side will be hooping to bounce back after recent defeats. Queens have a flu bug in the playing squad at present and Ian McCall will delay his team selection although Paul Burns is ruled out having undergone an operation on his knee during the week. If Queens manage all three points and the Cleyholers falter against Dundee then it will odds on for Doonhamers to stay clear of the dreaded play-offs. There is still a lot of football still to be played and there may be further twists and turns before the season ends.
