QUEENS HEAD INTO THE LIONS DEN

Reid - still
injured
Queens are in for a hectic afternoon at Paisley on Saturday they take on league leaders St Mirren on their own patch. Queens can't be that optimistic of success after scrambling a draw against Brechin at Glebe Park on Wednesday whereas the Paisley Buddies are on a roll at present. There were signs on Tuesday that Queens are gradually getting thing together but they face a very tough task tomorrow. Long term crocks Reid and Lovell are still injured and there is news of a flu outbreak in the Queens camp but I expect manager Scott will be able to field more or less the same eleven that faced Brechin in midweek. To be quite frank Queens can't hope to take anything from this game unless there is a dramatic turnround in form although perhaps a draw is not beyond their reach.

History of the St. Mirren v Queen of the South fixture

Queen o.t.S. face a trip to St. Mirren at St Mirren Park on Saturday afternoon, needing to turn around their fortunes at the ground. The The Doonhamers will be hoping to improve upon a record which has seen them lose 25 and win only 9 of the 41 games.

The most recent encounter between these two sides was less than a year ago, in April 2005, with St. Mirren running out comfortable 3 - 0 winners in a Scottish Division One match.

St. Mirren have been playing quite well at home, winning 3, drawing 2, and losing just 1. These games have seen the Buddies score just 7 goals, though they have conceded 4.

The away form of Queen o.t.S. is pretty dire, attaining just 3 draws from the previous six away games. While the The Doonhamers have hit 4 goals, 8 have hit the back of the wrong net.

St. Mirren are leading the way in the Bells Scottish Division One, with their 11 games giving them a return of 23 points. Queen o.t.S. are hovering perilously just above the relegation zone, with 7 points from 11 matches.
