QUEENS HOPEFUL OF SUCCESS OVER THE HIGHLANDERS

WOODY HOPES
TO BE BACK
Queens prepare for their clash with Ross County at Palmerston tomorrow against a background that an SPL club are trying to tempt one of our first team players away from the club. Queens have also had some interest from some English clubs for a player no longer required at Palmerston. On a more positive note it is hoped to secure Eric Paton on a long term contract. Queens apart from Reid are more or less at full-strength with the news that favourite Wood is back after his suspension. I have a feeling Wood will feature up front at some stage whereas Scotty is spoilt for choice elsewhere in the team. County have narrowly beaten us twice this season and must be the league most underacheivers. They have departed company with assistant manger Jimmy Bone which suggests they are in some financial bother. Queens should be fired up for this one and I can see goals with Queens having a great chance in picking up more points as they consolidate their postion. I hope the fans turn out and give the Queens maximum backing.

History of the Queen of the South v

Ross County fixture

Queen o.t.S. prepare to entertain Ross County at Palmerston Park on Saturday afternoon.

The most recent encounter between these two sides at Palmerston Park was earlier this season, with Ross County inflicting a narrow 0-1 defeat upon the The Doonhamers in a Scottish Division One match.

Recent respective form guides

Queen of the South have lost just once in their last six home games, winning four and drawing the other one. These games have seen the The Doonhamers score just 7 goals, though they have conceded 3.

In complete contrast to Queen o.t.S., Ross County are having a torrid time on their travels, seeing them win just 1 and draw 2 of the last six. While the County have hit 8 goals, 13 have hit the back of the wrong net.

Queen o.t.S.'s 26 points from 17 games sees them lie inside the top half of the table, in 4th position. Ross County are hovering perilously just above the relegation zone, with 20 points from 17 matches.
