QUEENS MUST STOP THE ROT AGAINST AIRDRIE

BOWEY-DISPPOINTING FORM
After three defeats in a row and failing to find the net,it will be a tense time for Queens fans as their favourites struggle to stop the rot against Airdrie United at Palmy on Saturday. The disappointing form of skipper Bowey has been a cause cf concern for everyone and one ponders if his mind is elsewhere. His fitness is not in question but his attitude has changed completely in recent weeks and the fans are slowly wondering if everything is ok in the Queens camp. Queens will be without Brain Reid who is injured but David Craig could return. Meanwhile Queens are desperate to sign a goalkeeper as cover up for Colin Scott as the current reserve keeper Graham Wright has no first team experience. There will have to be a dramatic improvement in form for Queens to gain three points tomorrow and we the fans can play our part by getting right behind the team from the start. So lets have plenty of volume from the fans and lift the team as another home defeat would put us in a dangerous position with a tough fixture against Hamilton on their plastic pitch next week. I am not very optomistic and a draw looks very much on the cards. I hope I am wrong with NcNiven and Lyle getting amongst the goals.

History of the Queen of the South v
Airdrie United fixture

Queen o.t.S. play host to Airdrie United at Palmerston Park on Saturday afternoon, and hold the advantage on previous meetings between the two. Of the 31 games played, The Doonhamers have recorded 10 wins, and Airdrie Utd. have come away with 9 victories.

The last time the two teams met at Queen o.t.S. was way back in the black-and-white days of December 1933, where the two sides shared the spoils courtesy of a 1-1 final scoreline in a Scottish First Division match.

Recent respective form guides

Queen of the South's dreadful home form has resulted in just 1 victory and 1 draw from their last six played. While The Doonhamers have scored 5, a worringly large 9 have been leaked at the other end.

Airdrie Utd.'s away form is none too clever either, with two wins, two draws, and two defeats. While the The Diamonds have hit 7 goals, 11 have hit the back of the wrong net.

Queen o.t.S.'s 16 points from 12 games sees them lie inside the top half of the table, in 5th position. Airdrie Utd. are hovering perilously just above the relegation zone, with 12 points from 12 matches.
