QUEENS HEAD FOR THE REC WITHOUT ANDY GORAM

Queens head for Alloa on league business tomorrow without Andy Goram in goal who is still suffering from flu. There should be no problem as Colin Scott will provide adequate cover. Some good news is that Sean O'Connor has recovered from his injury and also long-term crock Barry Donald has started training again. Derek Lyle however,is still several weeks away from full fitness. Having not played since New Years Day, John Connolly must be concerned about his team's fitness especially as this fixture against old rivals Alloa will be a gruelling affair on what will certainly be a heavy pitch. The Wasps will fighting for survival and with home advantage the pressure must be on Queens. Our lack of fire-power up front is a worrying factor at the moment as we are missing too many chances and Alloa normally only need one as they have the ability to close up the game. Queens will do well to get a point from this game and here's hoping we get a clear bill of health in light of the Aberdeen Cup clash next week. John Connolly is also disappointed that the Queens training facilities at Maxwelltown School are still not ready. There is apparantly some delay in installing floodlights which is most frustrating for everyone concerned. Meanwhile the newly refurbished Queens Lounge Bar at Palmerston is nearing completion and the new operator is hopeful that everything will be ready for the Aberdeen cup clash. Improvements include increased standing area at the bar and new TV equipment.
