Queens-Stranraer...part II

Last updated : 11 March 2002 By
Stanraer will be looking to keep their tiny promotion flame alight when they face an in-form queens side at Stair Park tommorow night. After saturdays win Queens will be in high spirits after their win on saturday but will be well aware that "The Cleyholers" know this is a MUST win game for them, lose it and Stranraer are effectively finished this year.

There probably won't be many changes, if any at all from saturday's team. Steve Bowie, George O'Boyle, Alan Moore and Derek Allan are still major doubts for tommorow and to be honest I doubt whether JC will risk putting them back into the starting eleven. I think Stranraer will still be without Kevin Finlayson :-) (good news for the defence!).  Long-term casualties Kevin Gaughan and Dogie Johnstone will definetly miss out for the Cleyholers.

The pitch at Stranraer is much softer than the one seen at Palmerston on saturday. It is likely that it will cut-up very quickly and it could be the type of night we had against Morton. However, the game should definetly be on.

Probable Queens line-up

Scott

Gray Thomson Aitken Anderson

Connelly O'Neill Connell McAlpine

Lyle Weatherson

Russj's prediction: I think this will be a much harder game for the Doonhamers as Stranraer will be desperate to keep in the promotion hunt.

1-1  Weatherson and Harty
