QUEENS HEAD FOR THE SEASIDE WITH NO INJURY WORRIES

Last updated : 07 March 2003 By Duke Of Galloway
Queens head for Ayr tomorrow in search of more points in their quest for 1st division survival and have no injury worries. The honest men on the other hand had a bruising 1-1 encounter with Arbroath in mid week when defender Marc Smyth and nid-fielder Paul Sheerin were sent off and both will miss the match due to suspension. However Queens be warned,as Ayr boss Gordon Dalziel has several talented youngsters at the club just itching for a chance. Queens record against Ayr is poor and I feel Queens will have to be at their best even to snatch a draw. Another defeat will keep us in the relegation zone with the prospect of a tough away fixture at Inverness next week. The financial situation has cast a slight shadow over the club at the moment with the whole of the back page in today's Dumfries and Galloway Standard devoted to Ronnie Bradford's plea for more fans to turn up and support the Queens. The Dumfries public are fickle and attracting more fans to Palmy will be difficult and I feel we must explore other ways of generating income.Wednesday's AGM on Wednesday should be a most interesting affair and as mentioned before QOTS FOOTY MAD will be there to report the proceedings so you wont miss a thing. I'm off with the Travel Club tomorrow to Ayr to cheer on the Queens. There are a few seats left on the second bus so if you contact my old mate Jim Mc Cormack on Dumfries 270102 you just may get a seat. The bus leaves from the usual  opposite TESCOS at
1100.

Paul Smythe - suspended.
