Scottish Championship leaders Hearts came from behind to beat Queen of the South in an exciting encounter at Dumfries.

Daniel Carmichael connected with Lewis Kidd's cross to give Queens the lead in a first half where the Doonhamers more than matched the league leaders. They could have been 2-0 up but Paton shot straight at the Jambos keeper when clean through.

However, an excellent finish by Billy King levelled matters before the half-time interval after the referee awarded a controversial free-kick in the Jambos favour.

The game appeared to be heading for a draw until Género Zeefuik's shot deflected into the net off Holt and Robbie Neilson's side are now 20 points clear of second-place Hibernian.

Queens can consider themselves unlucky not to earn a draw as they matched Hearts for most of the match even without Reilly and McShane who were out injured. They are still in the mix with the play-offs and on this form will make a strong challenge.
