Dumbarton keeper Danny Rogers was in top form to earn his side a point against 10-man Queen of the South.

The Sons number one kept out Lewis Kidd's early effort before Queens' Ian McShane hit the post with a header.

Rogers then saved efforts from Mark Miller and McShane, and Dumbarton's Archie Campbell fired wide after going clean through on goal.

Queens striker Derek Lyle was sent off in stoppage time after an altercation with Campbell and he will surely miss the upcoming cup QF with Falkirk.

A dour encounter played in atrocious conditions with Queens in caharge but unable to cash in on the few chances available. Queens have paid a heavy price with Lyle given a red card for fighting which means he misses the QFwith Falkirk on friday.
