Queens progressed into the Final of the Annan Tournament after a comprehensive demolition of a poor Ayr United side. Queens dominated from the kick-off and for some poor finishing could have been several goals up by the interval. Tosh along with new signings McFarlane and Bingham completely dominated the midfield created a hatful of chances. Corr in the Ayr goal made save after save until Dobbie finally broke the deadlock on 35 minutes. This was followed by a rare goal from Jim Laughlan who was in the right place to beat Corr and give Queens a 2-0 interval lead but it should have been more.

Half-Time - Ayr 0 Queens 2

Queens came out with all guns blazing in the second-half and Dobbie made it 3-0 from the penalty spot on 47 minutes after Corr had felled O'Connor. With the wind now at their backs Queens took complete control of the game and Dobbie deceived Corr on 50 minutes to complete his hat-trick. The stocky striker wasn't finished though and scored three more on 63,65 and 86 minutes as Queens tore Ayr to shreds. Ony a consolation goal by Stevenson on 75 minutes restored some pride to an Ayr side which were completely outclassed by an impressive Queens side in which Tosh,McFarlane,McGowan,O'Connor,Dobbie and Bingham were simply outstanding. The rest weren't far behind in a Queens team that didn't have a weakness.

On this form Queens look favourites to retain the Brewers Cup against a jaded looking Stranraer team who scraped through against the local Annan team on penalties.

The kick-off is at 3.25 PM tomorrow and there should be another glut of goals.
