Doonhamers Ease Past The Dees

An early Stevie Tosh penalty and a goal from Derek Holmes eased Queen of the South to a win against 10-man Dundee.

Visiting keeper Tony Bullock was shown a red card for pulling down David Weatherston and Tosh blazed the spot kick beyond substitute Rab Douglas.

Despite a spirited display by depleted Dundee it was Queens who forged further ahead in the 61st minute.

Bob Harris put a low cross through the Dundee defence and Holmes side-footed it in from close range.

Three points in the bag for Queens but some sympathy must be with the Dees who had an uphill struggle after they lost their goalkeeper early doors.

Queens MAD man of the Match - Steve Tosh - an immaculate display by the veteran midfielder.
