Third time lucky for Accies

Three late second-half goals earned Hamilton their third straight league win in a 3-0 victory over bottom-placed Queen of the South.

Only visiting goalkeeper Lee Robinson prevented Billy Reid's side from taking the lead in the first half.

Daniel Redmond tested Robinson from the edge of the area before Martin Canning's close-range header was also saved by the stopper two minutes before the break.

Substitute Greig Spence headed home Redmond's corner to eventually put the home side ahead in the 72nd minute.

Jordan Kirkpatrick's 25-yard strike cannoned against the post two minutes later before Redmond doubled the Accies' lead with a great strike from distance which thundered into the back of the net six minutes from time.

Teenage substitute Andy Ryan secured Hamilton's victory in the second minute of stoppage time when he produced a stunning 30-yard effort.
