Hamilton leave it late

Two late goals helped Hamilton to a 3-1 win over bottom club Queen of the South.

Hamilton took the lead after 15 minutes after Matthew Paterson met Grant Anderson's cross to fire into the bottom corner.

The away side replied quickly, though, Kevin Smith heading home Allan Johnston's corner after the half-hour mark.

They almost went in front on the hour, but Scott McLaughlin's free-kick was tipped over.

Substitute Douglas Imrie restored the lead eight minutes from time when he collected James Chambers' pass and struck with a wonderful curling effort from 20 yards.

Queen of the South pressed for an equaliser but Hamilton made sure of the points in injury time by smashing the ball into the top corner from 12 yards.
