Dobbie - Man
of the Match
The Hampden Heroes took the field to rapturious applause from a sparse crowd at Palmerston. Queens' manager Gordon Chisolm took the opportunity to field fringe players Grindlay,Lauchlan and Reid with Gilmour and Reid also getting a run out later in the game.

Queens looked fresh despite their Hampden semi-final epic and took early control but failed to find the net in the first half despite the promptings of the excellent Dobbie.

The introuduction of Stewart in the second half did the trick and Dobbie set him up for the opener on 57 minutes although there was more than a suspicion of hand ball by the on loan Falkirk striker.

The Palmy faithfull did not mind however as the songs started to belt out from the Young Team at the Portland End. Queens added to their tally on 74 minutes when Harris added another paragraph to his impressive CV by slamming a nice one into the corner as a dispirited Thistle looked to have thrown in the towel. Their manager McCall was going loopy on the touchline as he fumed that both goals should not have stood. The ex Queens boss however can have few complaints as the Doonhamers were clearly the better team.

Dundee are the visitors on Saturday and Queens will be aiming to consolidate their league position and at the same time burying the Dees' slim chances of taking the SFL 1 title.

Queens MAD Man of the Match - Steve Dobbie - He showed another dimension to his game - this time as goal maker.
