Late Weatherson Goal Robs Queens

Ex Queens player Peter Weatherson scored four minutes into stoppage time to earn Morton a draw and deny the Doonhamers their first win in nine games.

Queens, who had failed to score in their last four away games, took a two goal lead after only 20 minutes through new signing Barry Wilson and Gary Arbuckle.

Morton pulled a goal back just after the half-hour mark when Weatherson sent a flashing header into the net.

Weatherson popped up again right at the death to break Queens' hearts.

Queens looked a much better balanced outfit than of late and the added class of new signing Barry Wilson and the return of Steve Tosh made all the difference. Morton however put the Queens defence under a lot of pressure in the second half and perhaps a draw was the correct result.
