QOS LOGOS

Queen of the South's hopes of surviving in the First Division nosedived following a heavy home defeat by Livingston.

Gus MacPherson's men started well enough, with Kevin Smith seeing a shot blocked but the tide soon turned as Livi took control.

Rory Boulding's 27th-minute header set the Lions on their way before Chris Higgins' challenge on Marc McNulty resulted in a red card and gave the Doonhamers an impossible task.

McNulty soon converted Kevin McCann's cross to double the lead after 38 minutes.

The hosts battled hard with 10 men but the points were made safe 18 minutes from time when Keaghan Jacobs fired home with his left foot to make it three for Livi.

Boulding then found the corner of the net after a dreadful error in the Home Defence  for his second two minutes from time to cap a miserable day for the league's bottom side.
