Queen of the South all but secured a place in the play-offs with victory over Livingston. Only catostrophic results next week will prevent the Doonhamers extending their season and having a crack at qualifying for SPFL status for the first time.

Goals from Ian McShane and Iain Russell tied up a victory that leaves Queens three points ahead of Dumbarton and with a much better goal difference with one game left.

The hosts took the lead when McShane went through on goal and slotted under Darren Jamieson.

And Queen's top scorer Russell calmly converted a second chance to put the result beyond doubt.

Livingston tried hard in the second half but got no change from a mean Queens defence with Durnan outstanding.
