Queens Brought Back Down To Earth

QUEENS WERE BROUGHT STRAIGHT BACK DOWN TO EARTH AFTER THEIR GREAT WIN AGAINST DUNDEE IN MIDWEEK AS THEY SLUMPED TO A DISAPPOINTING DEFEAT AT THE HANDS OF RELEGATION HAUNTED AIRDRIE UNITED

Queen of the South were unlucky not to be ahead at the break after Stephen Dobbie low shot was parried wide.

Airdrie improved after the break and opened the scoring within five minutes of the restart when Marc Smyth raced in to blast beyond keeper Lee Robinson a static Queens defence stood and watched.

As the Doonhamers struggled to cope with a strong wind the Diamonds doubled their advantage eight minutes later through Scott McLaughlin's excellent curling effort.

This was a huge disappointment to the substancial travelling away support especially after the excellent performance at Dundee.

Queens MAD man of the match - Lancaster but unlike Tuesday evening he failed to find the net.
