Bottom side Cowdenbeath secured their first Scottish Championship win of the season against Queen of the South.

On-loan Dundee United forward Kudus Oyenuga converted from inside the penalty area to give Jimmy Nicholl's side the lead.

And Calum Gallagher - on loan from Rangers - fired home the hosts' second shortly before the break.

Derek Lyle headed Ian McShane's cross past Robbie Thompson but it proved only to be a consolation for Queens.

Queens were never at the races in the first half and only when they changed their formation did they threaten the home side.
