BOWSER-VITAL EQUALISER
Queens came away from Paisley with a draw which after their escapades during the week was quite creditable. Derek Allan made a welcome return to the side in place of Anderson and very soon his experience was put to the test as the Saints team containing several telented youngsters soon had the Doonhamers on the back foot. McLean was a constant threat and it was no surprise when he swept the Saints into the lead in 15 minutes after a great move. Queens looked rather sluggish at this stage and were lucky not to surrender further goals before half-time. Mc Lean in particular was unlucky and could easily have had a hat-trick.
Half Time Saints 1 Queens 0

Thinks did not look too good for Queens as the second half kicked off but the enigmatic O'Neill brought a smile back to the travelling Palmy support when he managed to scramble the ball home via the post to level the scores on 50 minutes. The joy did not last long however as Saints swept up the field and were given a penalty in 51 minutes which Gilles gleefully swept home to restore the Buddies lead. Queens looked up against it again but this present team does not lie down and the industrious Bowey suddenly got on to a Weatherson flick to level the scores once again on the 59th minute. Queens hung on for the remainder of the match to gain a creditable draw and with some home matches coming up gives the Doonhamers an opportunity to put more fresh air between themselves and the bottom two clubs. Consolidation is the name of the game at present and a top five spot is not entirely out of the question.
