QUEENS HOLD THE DEES FOR A PALMY REPLAY

Last updated : 07 January 2007 By Duke of Galloway

Queens gained a deserved share of the spoils and set up a mouth watering replay at Palmerston come a week on Tuesday. Queens with new signings McQuilken and Dobie looked the most likely side from the start but fell behind to a goal from former Palmy favourite Lyle who headed strongly past Scott from a Dickson cross. Queens however surprisingly equalised just on half-time when O'Connor smashed the ball into the top corner much to the delight of the travelling Queens support. Both sides had chances in the second half with Dobie and O'Neill missing chances for Queens in the dying minutes. Queens manager will be delighted with a draw and the team showed tremedous bottle after last week's reverse against Gretna. They also have a great chance to progress further in the Cup and of course earn some extra revenue.
