QUEENS IMPRESS AT BROADWOOD

THOMO-LEADING FROM THE FRONT
Queens returned to the scene of their recent Challenge Cup triumph and held Clyde to a creditable draw. Weatherson in fact had the chances to win the game for Queens but it would be unfair to shoulder the blame on the popular Geordie who played his part in an entertaining game brought to life by the magnificent Queens away support. Clyde got off to a flyer with Keogh scoring in the 2nd minute but Thomson equalised for Queens in 24 minutes with a powerful header from a Mc Alpine cross. Queens held the upper hand for a while as they probed for an equaliiser with Weatherson unlucky. Clyde scored in the 24th minutes through Gilhaney completely against the run of play. The first half ended with Queens arguably unlucky to be a goal down.

Half-time Clyde 2 Queens 1

Queens had the better of the second half but it was not until the 74th minutes when Weatherson equalised from a Lyle cross. Lyle,Weatherson and Mc Laughlan all had chances to clinch what would have been a deserved win for Queens but the Clyde defence held out. Compared with recent displays this was much better for Queens and a fifth place spot is a reality. Once again our magnificent fans continue to amaze everyone. More of the same for our final game against Ross County next week.
