QUEENS LOSE THEIR WAY IN THE HIGHLANDS

BURKE-CONSOLATAION GOAL
It was a long journey home for Queens last night as they were
comprehensively beaten by an impressive Inverness team who still fancy their chances of pipping Clyde for the title. Queens receved a killer blow before the game when O'Connor injured himself during the warm up. Burke was also left on the bench presumably for signing a pre-contract agreement with Ross County. Queens looked disjointed from the start but managed to hold their own until Caley struck with a double blow on 39 and 40 minutes when Hislop and Bingham scored respectively with the normally reliant Queens back four looking supect. Queens were right up against it but offered very little against the Highlanders who looked really up for it.

As the second half wore on Queens had to fight against a strong gale which made matters even worse for them. It was no surprise when Wilson put Caley further ahead on 65 minutes. There was some hope for Queens when Ross County bound Burke managed to score for Queens on 78 mins after great work by Mc Colligan. The icing however was put on the Inverness cake when Queens lost a fourth goal in 81 minutes through Hislop. This was a poor performance by Queens but not surprising considering their poor record at Inverness and also the pre-match loss of O'Connor and Burke. We now have three home games and one away coming up so fingers crossed we can beat last seasons tally.
