Partick Thistle's First Division title hopes were dealt a blow as Queen of the South spring a surprise victory at Firhill

Queens got of to a flyer as Stephen Dobbie lashed home a beauty to give the visitors a 12th-minute lead.

Dobbie had a 20-yard effort saved by Thistle goalkeeper Jonny Tuffey before Marc Twaddle missed a good chance to level for the home side.

Substitute Stevie Tosh sealed Queens' win with a superb curling shot past Tuffey eight minutes into the second half and send the substantial away support into raptures.

This superb win gives Queens a lifeline in their struggle to keep in Division 1 and they can look with confidence to their visit to Perth next Sunday.
