Dundee United came from behind to beat hosts Queen of the South and go third in the Scottish Championship.

Queen of the South 1 Dundee United 3  HT: 1-1

Scorers: Queens - Thomas 21  Dundee United - Mikkelson 24 Smith 48,57

Dom Thomas struck from outside the box to give Queens the lead, but Thomas Mikkelsen's shot in off the crossbar quickly levelled matters.

Matthew Smith's impressive drive early in the second period put the visitors ahead.

And Smith got United's third from close range as the Tangerines moved a point above Greenock Morton.

Csaba Laszlo's side, who had not played since 23 February, have four games in hand over Morton and three in hand over second-placed Livingston and leaders St Mirren.

United are seven points behind Livi and 17 off the Buddies.
