Queens Too Good For The Honest Men

Last updated : 14 August 2016 By Queens Mad

Queen of the South recorded their first Championship victory of the season with a comfortable home win over Ayr United.

Derek Lyle opened the scoring for the hosts with a right-footed strike before Stephen Dobbie doubled the lead just before the break.

The Doonhamers extended their lead further when Lyle found the net for the second time.

The visitors managed to pull one back through Kevin Nisbet before Lyndon Dykes sealed the victory for the hosts.

Ayr made a game of it but created verty little whereas Queens with Dobbie in the mood were more clinical and fully deserved their vicyory even with several players missing from the squad.
