Shock Cup Exit For Queens

The length of the First Division may separate the sides but Airdrie United were more than a match for Queen of the South in the Scottish Cup.

Queens keeper David Hutton made a hash of an attempted clearance, allowing Alan Trouten to chip in the opener.

Diarmuid O'Carroll then carved out a chance for John Baird to bury the ball beyond Hutton.

Scott McLaughlin combined with Paul Lovering to set up Trouten's second and O'Carroll later swept home another.

A terrible afternoon for Queens and they never really recovered from the early error by goalikeeper Hutton.
