Queen of the South came from behind to stun Partick Thistle with an injury-time winner in their Co-operative Insurance second-round tie at Firhill.

Thistle dictated procedures in the first half against a stuffy Queens defence but eventually went ahead through a superb Simon Donnelly free kick sfter 30 minutes.

The Doonhamers had their chances though with Burns and Wilson going close.

The Jags tried to consolidate their lead and put Queens under a lot of second half pressure but the visitors showing great team spirit refused to buckle level and sub Weatherston scored with his first touch, firing a Burns cross high into the net in the 64th minute.

It was now game on and with the sizeable away support cheering their heroes on Weatherston grabbed a dramatic winner in injury-time from Burns's delivery.

A memorable win from a Queens team that showed great team spirit and everyone played their part.
