Victory Over The Pars Ends Queens Dismal Run

Last updated : 04 February 2009 By Queens MAD

Goals by Paul Burns and Stephen Dobbie guided Queens to a fine victory at Dunfermline thus ending the Doonhamers dismal run

The Pars' Rory Loy's had an early shot saved by Lee Robinson before Graham Bayne's header was blocked.

Queens took the lead after 29 minutes when Burns looped a great half-volley into the far corner of the net.

Dobbie's stunning drive doubled the visitors' advantage after 67 minutes and the same player was guilty of missing a sitter in the closing stages.

This was an encouraging display from an improving Queens team but it came at a cost with the loss of Wilson who will now be out for 3 weeks due to a leg injury.

We are now back in the mix of things and with some vital home games coming up we have every chance of steering clear of relegation.

Queens Man of the Match - Stephen Dobbie - he took his goal well and might have had more.
