The shock news from Palmy is that Ronnie Bradford has resigned from the board as Chairman of Queens apparantly on health grounds. The departure of the popular businessman will be a big blow to Queens fans as he has steered the club to its greatest period of success, the Div 2 Championship and Challenge Cup in successive seasons. Mr Bradford served on the Queens board for eight years the latter four as Chairman and is survived on the board by his wife Shirley. Mr Bradford suffered from ill-health in recent years but struggled on regardless, a fact not gone unnoticed by all connected with Queens. We are all forever grateful for all that Ronnie has done for the club and wish him well for the future. Meanwhile speculation mounts as to who will be his replacement. Tommy Harkness is the vice chairman but we understand he may be not keen on becoming chairman. The door is open for the remaining directors to seek election as Chairman namely, Keith Houliston,Craig Paterson,David Rae or Shirley Bradford. A decision will be made fairly soon at board room level. Who ever is chosen will have a hard act to follow
